The Albergo Marin is well situated close to the train station, bus station and a vaporetto station. Laundromat almost next door, a couple of good restaurants and excellent sandwich/ pastry shop within 100 metres or so. Rooms are small and the bathroom is tiny, but no more so than other, more expensive places in Venice. Service is excellent; both the cleaning and desk staff went out of their way to accommodate us when one of us became ill. Breakfast is plentiful and varied, with breads, cakes, various fresh fruits, yoghurts and juices along with cold meats, cheeses, bacon and eggs. Our cleaner spoke excellent English, as did the desk staff. Hotel will stop your bags post checkout if needed. Small lounge near the foyer where you can wait for porter etc. Breakfast room available at other times of the day so you can socialise with other guests if you want. One rainy night we came back from dinner to find people enjoying g a game of cards. We felt were we treated as family.

Exceptionally friendly staff, it was a pleasure to interact with everyone at the hotel, from front desk to breakfast room staff — we felt comfortable and very welcome at every step. The room was on the small side, but comfortable enough and perfectly clean. Perfect location, convenient to reach from the train and bus stations, with restaurants and shops within a couple minutes’ walk, and very close to several vaporetto stops. St Mark’s Basilica around a 20–30 minute walk away. And the breakfasts were excellent, not a huge choice of products but everything clearly high quality, with something for everyone — including vegetarian and vegan options, and scrambled eggs and coffee made to order. 10/10 recommend, we’d definitely stay there again.

The location of this property is perfect. Only a few minutes walk from the piazzale Roma where you can get any buses and taxis in and out of Venice. You can also go to the corner of the square where the people mover can bring you to the port if you are boarding a cruise ship. The hotel itself is old world charm hidden amongst the streets of Venice and surrounded by cafes, restaurants, bakeries etc. We were met by the extremely helpful and friendly Mark who was exceptional at what he did and an asset to the hotel. He is a born and bred Venetian, so if you need to know anything..ask him. He's wealth of knowledge. Will most likely stay here again when we pay a visit to Venice sometime.

This is a small hotel located near the train station. There’s a shop and a good restaurant within walking distance. The staff is very polite and extremely attentive. We came to Venice for the carnival. At the reception, they told us where to find the best spots to watch the boat parade. They also gave us a map and recommended a helpful app called CheBateo?, which allowed us to plan routes using public water transport. It turned out to be essential in Venice. We really liked our room. It was small, but it had everything needed for a great stay. We would be happy to return to this hotel again!

Location to the train station , and bus station was close and excellent. A 2-3 minute walk and you could be on the Grand Canal. Laundromat within 1 min. The breakfast was fantastic. Ours was easily the best of the 3 hotels chosen by our group of 12. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and would’ve given us the shirts off their backs . I lost my glasses on a water taxi, and Jack spent 1 ½ hours on the phone trying to track it down- to no avail:(
