The Albergo Marin is well situated close to the train station, bus station and a vaporetto station. Laundromat almost next door, a couple of good restaurants and excellent sandwich/ pastry shop within 100 metres or so. Rooms are small and the bathroom is tiny, but no more so than other, more expensive places in Venice. Service is excellent; both the cleaning and desk staff went out of their way to accommodate us when one of us became ill. Breakfast is plentiful and varied, with breads, cakes, various fresh fruits, yoghurts and juices along with cold meats, cheeses, bacon and eggs. Our cleaner spoke excellent English, as did the desk staff. Hotel will stop your bags post checkout if needed. Small lounge near the foyer where you can wait for porter etc. Breakfast room available at other times of the day so you can socialise with other guests if you want. One rainy night we came back from dinner to find people enjoying g a game of cards. We felt were we treated as family.

The staff bent over backwards to be helpful and accommodating. The breakfast (18 euros each) was pretty amazing and included cooked-to-order bacon & eggs, made-to-order cappuccino, amazing pastries, and fresh, delicious juices. This was a bigger breakfast than we've seen anywhere else in our 2 wks in Italy. The facilities (lounge, dining area) were also a bit more roomier than other places we've stayed.

We would give a 5 star to the staff because their recommendation for a particular restaurant was beyond expectations, we dream of it every night and would want to return back to Venice just solely to try it.

We were genuinely impressed by this hotel — in the best possible way! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff were amazing, the room was super cozy and spotless, and the breakfast? Absolutely fantastic — better than in some “fancier” hotels with more stars. Plus, the location is super convenient, just a short walk from the train and bus stations. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

Exceptionally friendly staff, it was a pleasure to interact with everyone at the hotel, from front desk to breakfast room staff — we felt comfortable and very welcome at every step. The room was on the small side, but comfortable enough and perfectly clean. Perfect location, convenient to reach from the train and bus stations, with restaurants and shops within a couple minutes’ walk, and very close to several vaporetto stops. St Mark’s Basilica around a 20–30 minute walk away. And the breakfasts were excellent, not a huge choice of products but everything clearly high quality, with something for everyone — including vegetarian and vegan options, and scrambled eggs and coffee made to order. 10/10 recommend, we’d definitely stay there again.

This is a small hotel located near the train station. There’s a shop and a good restaurant within walking distance. The staff is very polite and extremely attentive. We came to Venice for the carnival. At the reception, they told us where to find the best spots to watch the boat parade. They also gave us a map and recommended a helpful app called CheBateo?, which allowed us to plan routes using public water transport. It turned out to be essential in Venice. We really liked our room. It was small, but it had everything needed for a great stay. We would be happy to return to this hotel again!

The Albergo Marin is located very close to the S. Lucia train station although it is on the other side of the Grand Canal so you will have to negotiate a large bridge. Porters can be hired to take your bags to the hotel for 15 Euro if needed. It is a walkable distance with luggage. The Hotel is very close to the Grand Canal and a main ferry (vaporetto) station is nearby. The best feature of this hotel is its staff - they were exceptional - very friendly, helped us map out an walking schedule to see mush of the city and understand the best ways to get around. Gave good recommendations for sight-seeing and for local restaurants. Breakfast was the best we had our whole trip. Food was lovingly presented in its own jars and the hot food was made to order. The hotel has no lift so you will need to carry luggage up small stairs. Rooms are cosy - we had to rearrange furniture to make it workable and stack items on top of the wardrobe. The rooms do not have a fridge or air conditioning. Our room was heated through a radiator. Our room had its own bathroom which was very small - one personal at a time small - which your head on the basin when you use the toilet. We arrived at night and didn't realise there were shutters on the windows. We closed the shutters the next night.

The location was very close to Piazzale Roma, which is where the bus station is and from where the bus from the airport terminates. Next day we needed to catch the People Mover from Piazzale Roma to Tronchetto for a transfer to our cruise, so the hotel was in an ideal location for us. The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very generous and tasty. Great recommendations from hotel staff for dinner nearby.
